Designer Lizzie Greco has a small part of keeping the art of handmade paper alive by building her business Craftbelly Frames + Mirrors around it. Each frame she makes begins as an unfinished wood frame that she wraps tightly with handmade decorative paper to impart a “painted-on” effect. A majority of the papers she uses are imported from other countries where the art of paper-making is alive and well. These papers include Lokta, Indian Rag, Chiyogami, and Katazome-shi.

Lizzie has have come up with a small collection for me that are elegant and subdued but beautiful and original. The collection consists of 7 different frames available in a full range of sizes from 4×6 to 20×24.

Holiday family photos for a Chicago family in the South Loop…We made a holiday/address change card as well as other photos to mark this baby’s 8 month mark….

With the suggestion of a client, we located an awesome spot for outdoor family photos in Chicago. The place really goes well with my style of shooting which is more editorial, documentary, and left of center than your average photographer. I like to photograph families in interesting and unusual arrangements instead of simply centering everyone in the middle of the frame with forced smiles. I like to utilize the whole frame and attempt to create dynamic compositions and arrangements that show movement and harmony while at the same time capturing precious emotions and moments.  I think making interesting and dynamic family photographs is one of the most challenging things to photograph but with this beautiful family I think I have succeeded.

I love working with this family…I photographed her pregant and now with their 1 year old boy.  I think these photos are precious, genuine and timeless and exude so much love!
