Holiday family photos for a Chicago family in the South Loop…We made a holiday/address change card as well as other photos to mark this baby’s 8 month mark….

With the suggestion of a client, we located an awesome spot for outdoor family photos in Chicago. The place really goes well with my style of shooting which is more editorial, documentary, and left of center than your average photographer. I like to photograph families in interesting and unusual arrangements instead of simply centering everyone in the middle of the frame with forced smiles. I like to utilize the whole frame and attempt to create dynamic compositions and arrangements that show movement and harmony while at the same time capturing precious emotions and moments.  I think making interesting and dynamic family photographs is one of the most challenging things to photograph but with this beautiful family I think I have succeeded.

I love working with this family…I photographed her pregant and now with their 1 year old boy.  I think these photos are precious, genuine and timeless and exude so much love!

I’m excited to have one of my books selected for Asukabook’s book of the month. Asukabook is one of my favorite album and book companies. I’m posting shots from fall of 2009 to get some inspiration for the upcoming fall season….my favorite time to take photos in Chicago. I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing and the weather to turn to get some of the gorgeous color like you see below. We started at a park in Winnetka and moved to the water to take photos of the sisters at the water.  I love these photos !
